Gordon does include some recipes that are useful no matter what your skill in the kitchen is, such as a handy section devoted to recipes for every stock & sauce you will ever need, followed by a step by step guide with pictures, to making your own fresh pasta.
The book also has a wonderful introduction that is really a short bio on Gordon Ramsay. Even though I will not be making many of the full recipes in this book, I will use it to make basic sauces & stocks to enhance my cooking.
