They used alchemy to try to bring their mother back from the dead, and now they are paying the price, Edward is a gifted alchemist and his life is complicated by this, Alphonse is caught in a metal suit of armour and they work for the government while trying to find answers. The enemies of the state aren't all evil but the good guys are often flawed too.
