This one was definitely on the slower side for me.
I never particularly liked Tristan's character in the previous two books. It's odd I normally love the asshole, playboy persona but I never warmed to his character. So he had a lot of sucking up do to make for me to enjoy his story. And unfortunately, he never really recovers from my initial impression.
Alex was also a little iffy for me. I really liked that she didn't take Tristan's shit; someone really needed to put in in his place. But then she would just create excuses for why she found it attractive and that irked me.
This story in particular suffers from the fact that the main source of conflict (Alex's family ruining Tristan's) doesn't get brought up until the last 5 chapters--and then it's quickly resolved in about 2 chapters. When I'm not particularly loving the romance, I need something else to distract me and that plot point would have been it. While I appreciate the lighter presentation of this series, it just didn't work for this particular one for me.
