Follows the movie pretty well. ( )

As seems to happen with so many picture book adaptations of movies and TV shows, the story is a bit stilted and forced. The illustrations are great, though, and kids will love the booby traps Kevin lays for the burglars.

Very similar to the movie, except the reader doesn't exactly know what happened to Kevin's parents. The pictures are bright and colorful. I think the book was still a good addition to holiday reads, but the movie is just so funny. ( )

This is an incredibly cute illustrated adaptation of the classic Christmas movie. I love Smith's art style. This edition also does a good job of toning down the violence (I mean, would anyone really want to read to a kid about a man stepping on a nail while barefoot or having his head set on fire?!) and adding in some lessons like trying to call 911. I think they could have done a little more regarding Kevin's family, like mentioning that they forgot him, or showing them working hard to get home to him. As a huge fan of the movie, I'm so glad to have this book! ( )
