Bear and Bunny by Daniel Pinkwater is about a Bear and a Bunny that meet and learn to love each other. They don't really understand that they are different but they still love each other. Then they decide they would like to love a pet. They think the frog is a kitty and learn to love the frog.

I saw the book as very innocent. I relate to the book because I feel that the love that bear and bunny have for each other is like the love that children have for each other. They just have love with no judgment and they don't care how they are different until they are told so. A very innocent kind of love.

In the classroom I would incorporate this story in a all about me theme where we talk about how we all are different but we all should treat each other with love. We would do an activity that involves finding the good qualities in each other.

The bear and the bunny are best friends. They do everything together such as wandering around in the woods, collecting things, and taking naps together. Despite the fact that they are best friends, the bunny things bear is a big bunny, and bear believes that the bunny is a small bear. They decide to get a pet and there begins their search for one. In the end, they decide on a frog, which they both believe to be a kitten. I think this story can be really entertaining to children because they will find the situations funny. The illustrations were lovely and enjoyable. ( )
