"An Accidental Woman", by Barbara Delinsky, is a novel based in a small town in New Hampshire. The characters are a bit different. One of the main characters has been accused of the crime of murder. However, her boyfriend and the townspeople know nothing of her past. Yet, all claim to respect and love her. She has been living with her boyfriend and his two daughters. However, they had never discussed her past: her family, careers, etc. Doesn't make sense that you would "fall in love" with someone and allow them to move into your home with your small children, and know virtually nothing about them. Another issue, was the reactions of the townspeople. They were a bunch of nosy, gossiping individuals that claimed to care, but their actions and reactions showed otherwise. Overall, not a bad read. Would like to have seen more realistic characters and a stronger plot. This book captured my attention in the first chapter. The characters seemed very real. Poppy was a very strong and courageous woman considering all that she had been through. I think the book depicted the sense of community in a small town very well. In spite of people's differences, they all came together when it mattered. The importance of forgiveness and honesty were themes that I could identify with. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
