Exquisitely well written. The world of the 'Dark in You' series is compelling. The characters are delightful. One of my favorite is Khloë, Harper's cousin. This character made me laugh so hard my eyes watered and my husband looked at me like I lost my mind. All the supporting characters are well defined WITHOUT impeding or taking away from the storyline. They enhanced the story and your awareness of who Harper is. You got the essence of them through Harper as she interacted with them.
Harper and Knox are amazing characters. Harper is self-assured, bold, and self-reliant. She plays by her own rules. Brazen, sassy and cheeky but fiercely loyal to her family. A very strong female. Knox is composed, tenacious and relentless. He is forceful and always gets what he wants. What he wants now is Harper, and the word No is not in his vocabulary. Their intimate relationship is off the charts passionate, sensual and erotic.
'Burn' is filled with twist and turns. Someone is out to get Harper. Knox is determined to protect her. You only know what the characters know, but all the clues are there. The suspense keeps you intrigued and guessing till the conclusion of the mystery.
A deeply satisfying read on ALL levels.

I absolutely adore Suzanne Wright's books and this book again did not disappoint!

Wright has the perfect PNR formula in my opinion, and this book continues to follow the basics of it... I AM SO NOT COMPLAINING! It has the strong female protagonist and the sexy alpha male, with a plot that often involves the female getting in at least one dangerous situation and the male partaking in the rescuing and keeping her safe. Of utmost importance to me is that while the male may want to keep her safe, the female is no damsel in distress and can often handle the situation on her own or at least hold her own.

The character development is great as usual. I can't help but love Harper and Knox and root for them. I also love that the story is told from both his and her prospectives so you know what both of them are feeling/thinking throughout. I also like that not only do you start to get to know and love the main characters but also the peripheral characters, which not all authors are able to do effectively.

Finally, I really admire Wright's ability to make the book still feel light-hearted and humorous while keeping the reader's heart racing with the quick adventurous plot. Of course there are also many steamy scenes throughout which doesn't hurt!

I can't wait to jump into the next book in the series! ( )

I just finished this book last night. I really enjoyed the story. It had an interesting hero and heroine. I liked that the heroine reacted in the opposite way the hero expected. She didn't do this by accident. She did this by thinking about how he expected her to react, why he expected it, and why she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of carrying on like everyone else. I think this was the first time I've seen this in a character. It was refreshing. A bit of warning, this story did have a lot of typos. Not sure if the author was in a hurry and didn't have time for a proofer to go through the book OR if the proofer missed them. Either way, they were there. That said, they did NOT ruin my enjoyment of the story. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

I just re-read this book again and I liked it even better the second time. I think it will be a regular re-read for me. That says a LOT about the story and the characters. ( )

Smokin hot

OMG I love Burn so much, this is my first Book by the talented Suzanne Wright and can I just say it definitely will not be my last, I loved the idea of inner demons so unique, I was hooked from the minute I started reading and was transfixed till the closing lines. Harper was such a likable character, feisty, independent but also very uncomplicated and accepting. Knox well what a hottie and his inner demon just mmmm, I loved the easy acceptance of a mate and anchor even know it was unexpected so refreshing. The chemistry between harper and knox was smokin hot and the pages sizzled with heat, I really am lookin forward to the next installment in this fantastic series. ( )
