I don't quite know how to categorize it. It's got a little bit of a paranormal element, but it's not a paranormal romance. There are some elements that go back in time, but it's not a time travel. And I wouldn't say it was romantic suspense either. You basically have 2 storylines going on here at the same time. The first concerns 27 y/o model, Parrish Locke. I have to say that I didn't care for her. And what 27 y/o says thins like "Whatevs" and "Yeppers"? Please tell me I'm not that old yet, b/c I felt ancient reading her parts. Then you have Karlie and Dominic (can't tell you who they are w/o giving away a spoiler) and their story takes place in the 80s amid mafiosos, perms, shoulder pads and banana clips. I liked their part of the story... and was disappointed when it kinda ended. This book is the first in a series, and it appears that future books will continue with the same trope - modern girl helping the deceased carry out their unfinished business. Will I keep reading? I'm gonna try one more in the series before I make up my mind. It helps that these books are available on Kindle Unlimited. This book was different than anything else I've read in a while. This book is titled SILENT WHISPERS by none other than ANDREA SMITH!! And is it ever an OMG gotta read it!! I rec'd an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest opinion. This is mousieys very honest opinion of her book. I found this book to be very well written and very detailed in all descriptions. The way the story line is laid out is so interesting that you don't realize that you have read the book until you are at the end of it wanting more and more. This is the first story I have read from this author and I am so looking forward to READING more of her work!! GENRE -- mystery-suspense- sexual AUTHOR - ANDREA SMITH RELEASE DATE- AUGUST 2014 In this story you find a lot of twist and turns going on it. The story tells about a murder or death in the voice of the victim Our story starts out with an accident and a women seeing another at a grave in white. During the course of the story- Parrish is seeing things that happened to her bio-mother . However she doesn't realize that Kaylee is her mother. From here after the accident - the story is told in the third person. You hear Kaylee telling the story of her life with her true love. Now I have to say that even though this story has some violence in it, . You see the way a mafia truly works with in the family. One man married and it is only a marriage on paper. This is a must read for all- but I would recommend that you are over the age of 16 due to the sexual and violence content of the book. As for mousieys rating -- well the Mouse gives it a 45 out of 5 stars. Please Ms Smith I have to have more of this story!! THIS IS A MUST READ AND YOU HAVE TO READ TO BELIEVE IT !! For twenty-seven years, I've flitted through life clueless to the God-given abilities that lay dormant inside of me. In the blink of an eye, everything changed more than I ever could've anticipated. She changed it. Now I know that nothing is as it seems. I will never be the same again...but this isn't my story. It's hers. I'm just being forced to live it, resolve it, and ultimately try to move on after learning that our lives are going to be tangled far more than I would've ever imagined. My name is Parrish Locke. And I can see the dead. Silent Whisper is Book #1 in the Limbo Series. Be prepared for the unexpected. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

Parrish meets a ghostly woman when she awakes after the accident. Its from here that the story changes to that of the life of Karlie and Dominic. Their very unconventional love story is told to us from Karlie’s POV and what a story it is. Their story takes place over about 70% of the book and you almost forget about how we are being told this story.
As this was the first book in the series there was defiantly a huge twist but it sets the stage for all the future books. I enjoyed both aspects – the paranormal and the contemporary romance – of the book and look forward to seeing who Parrish helps in the future books.
