I received this book in exchange for an honest review. A world where magic not only exist but has different fractions and one in particular to be leery of. This book continues from book one Ravensblood. I really enjoyed how the characters have evolved in book 2 showing growth and maturity and a love that is still growing. Lots of action and intrigue and emotional blows definitely worth adding to the library. ( )

This was a wonderful sequel, though it is not a stand alone sequel. I found that the characters grew in the two year gap, as did the writer. This is one of my favorite series, can't wait for #3!!

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review via LibraryThing. ( )

Raven’s Wing is the sequel to Ravensblood, an urban fantasy. Cassandra Greensdowne is a Guardian, a magical law enforcement officer. Her lover is Corwyn Ravenscroft, a reformed black mage. Cass is now working for the International Guardians who are much less prejudiced against her, and Raven’s, past than her former force was. Raven has been adjusting to no longer being a wanted man, and even helping Cass and her colleagues with some of their cases for fun. Unfortunately the Ravensblood, a powerful dark magic artifact that he created and which the Council had locked up at the end of the first book, has been stolen. Raven is the prime suspect and has to go into hiding. Cass and her colleagues need to try to find out who really stole the Ravensblood before it can be used and cause great evil.
There was more humour in this novel than in the first, and some new and interesting characters. The mystery of the who stole the Ravensblood and Cass’s efforts to solve the case and clear Raven’s name is only part of the novel. There is also Raven’s journey to discover who he is now that he is no longer a dark mage. As in the first book, the romance between Cass and Raven is part of the plot but doesn’t overwhelm the mystery and adventure.
I recommend this book for readers who enjoy urban fantasy. ( )

Exciting second book in the series – hard to put down!

In an alternate universe that has Portland, Oregon as its capitol live people divided into Crafts, Arts and Mundane. Guardians are there to keep everyone safe after the last Mage Wars.

The second book of this series begins about two years after Ravensblood ends. Cass is working for Guardians International and Raven, her significant other, helps out on cases when he is asked to. Both Cass and Raven are involved with the task force created to look for the Ravensblood when it is stolen. The power of the Ravensblood must be retrieved from the thief who no doubt wants to use it for evil.

There are interesting new characters that make an appearance in this second book as well as twists, turns and surprises aplenty.

Will good be able to overcome evil and if so how many, if any, will walk away unscathed?

I am definitely looking forward to reading book three when it comes out!

Thank you to LibraryThing and the author for the copy of this book to read and review ( )
