With names like Bella Andre and Melissa Foster attached to the Love on Rockwell Island series it has to be good. This story has all the elements that you would expect from both authors. Cape Cod Kisses has strong sense of family values which both authors have a love of and have written about in their past series. What I loved about Cape Cod kisses is that it has both comedy and drama. The only bad thing I have to say is that the story ended too soon. CAPE COD KISSES IS A BEAUTIFULLY HEARTWARMING READ THAT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Received an ARC of this story for an honest review. LOVED IT. This was a good blend of characters, atmosphere and romance. Always enjoy Bella Andre and Melissa Foster, they make a good team. To start the series it seems like there's a typical cold grandparent calling the kin together to set things in the order he likes. But this isn't about a grandfather it's about fate and finding a person, not who agrees with everything you do, but rather completes you. I loved that the main character, Shelley decides to go on a solo honeymoon on a beautiful, romantic island where she meets Quinn, a shipping tycoon who can't wait to leave the island and who is only there because of the aforementioned grandfather . . . Or rather fate. Definitely want to read more in the series. So I am a big fan of Melissa Foster, I love her writing style and how her characters jump off of the page at you. So I was super excited to hear that she was co-writing a new series set on the east coast, that I jump on the chance of reading the first in the series. I was also excited to read something written by Bella Andre, I have heard many a good thing about her and I have to say, she lived up to everyone. Do the first lesson this book teachers you, is that just because the grass is a little greener on the wealthier side of the fence, doesn't mean that it is sweeter. Shelley Walters is a part of The Walter's Diamonds family. Shelley is the daughter of wealthy parents, who pushed Shelley aside so they could put all their focus on business and perception. As Shelley became an adult, she became more like her beloved Aunt. After inheriting a coffee shop, Shelley spent her time focused on continuing the warmth and friendly environment. Her dating life had become staid and boring, so she decided to go on a solo Honeymoon, to Honeymoon cottage on Cape Cod, but little did she know that her whole life would change in such a small amount of time. Quinn Rockwell and his brothers had been summoned to the island by his Grandfather and given an ultimatum, are in charge of the Rockwell Resort and spend 95% of the year on the island or he would sell the resort. This didn't sit well with any of the brothers, mainly because they disliked their workaholic Grandfather. But it became very apparent after meeting Shelley, that Quinn was slowly but surely becoming his Grandfather; and while his attraction to Shelley bloomed in to love, he struggles with his work life….. I will not reveal any more of this story to you, so no spoiler alert needed. I am going to use a word I rarely use, to describe this book… Enchanting! This book is enchanting; it stole my breath and blew my mind. This story is an honest to goodness, old time romance set in the modern age. The writing collaboration between these two authors is simply divine, smooth, well written and with characters that leap from the pages, captures your heart and won't let go. So in the end I give this magical book 10 out of 10 This was a good blend of characters, atmosphere and romance. Always enjoy Bella Andre and Melissa Foster, they make a good team. "When Quinn Rockwell left Rockwell Island a decade ago to build a shipping empire, he never thought he'd return to live on Cape Cod Bay--that is, until his grandfather summons Quinn and his four siblings to take over the prestigious Rockwell Resort. Quinn is already working fifteen-hour days, and the last thing he has time for is his grandfather's demands. But on his first night back, when Quinn finds a gorgeous and carefree woman skinny-dipping in his favorite cove, he's tempted to ignore his work for a while...and focus on her instead. As a free spirit who follows her heart and her dreams, Shelley Walters is not the kind of girl to wait around for Mr. Right, so she heads to Rockwell Island for the honeymoon of her dreams--a solo honeymoon. Ready for a week of sun and fun, she never expected to meet a man like Quinn Rockwell. Wealthy and intensely driven, Quinn is everything Shelley swore she didn't want. Refreshingly spontaneous and a true romantic, Shelley is everything Quinn never knew he needed. Drawn together despite their differences, during a week of sizzling-hot passion and deep conversations, they fall head over heels for each other. But when their perfect week on the island is over, will their love survive in the real world?"--Page 4 of cover. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
