5 Owen stars .This book gave me a warm fuzzy feeling. The prologue gave me Goosebumps Owen Harper did not disappoint in this read, he was wild, reckless, has a sassy mouth, a serious bad-ass, and a man-whore (my perfect hero).

Was recommended on a blog to immediately read this, don't put on TBR, so when I finished what I was currently reading, I did. Did not regret that, gulped this book down in one sitting (made for a very late night). Loved this book and looking forward to hearing more about the gang in the next books.

Awesome job, first time reader to this author but will be checking out more of her work.

The Hook: What is Owen about? What in the world is Kensington (love this name, BTW) experiencing that draws these two together?

I previewed this book a couple of weeks ago and was excited about it. Now, I'm excited it's released! Really, really excited. And if you haven't picked it up already, you should. You really should.

From the start, this book had me hooked. I was so curious about what in Kensington's life fell apart and exactly how did Own help her. And you know what? It's worth a read. It really is.

Intense. That's the word that pops into my head to sum this book up. It's edgier than most YA stuff out there (just a heads up), but it wouldn't be the story it is without it.

Bold. That closely followed "intense" because Scott brings up issues that other authors may shy away from in the YA genre, but that's one of the things I loved about this story. I haven't read a story quite like this and I'm glad for the perspective it gave. You know things happen; some of it good, some of it bad and to see it from the YA perspective just makes this story amazing.

The plot works. I love it. It's constantly flowing and moves along at just the right pace. I feel a good storyline has a good push and pull, a mixture of tension and ease. This story has it. And the challenges that Owen and Kensi face, both together and separate, work well with each other. I really enjoyed seeing their story unfold. It's intense. It's bold. It's daring. It's different. They draw strength from each other. It's refreshing to read.

The characters are awesome. If this was a movie, I'd say the supporting cast rocks. They do what secondary characters are suppose to do, add depth to the overall story arch. They help move the story along. They are there when the story needs a pick me up, a different perspective, a breath of fresh air and Scott does just that.

Overall, this is a good read. I'm glad I had the chance to read it and I'm glad to review it.

And I have to just mention, I don't really read "realistic" fiction. I tend to veer into the fantasy realm only because when I read I'm giving my mind a vacation and when you're on vacation you don't really want be "in" reality, you know? But I really enjoyed this story. For realistic fiction, it's golden.

If I didn't already have a copy I'd buy it. It's a great add to any library, especially if you're a book junkie.

I'm looking forward to hearing more from Ginger Scott. Thank you for a great read! ( )
