Asa and Callie had nothing in common. He was an Ace, raised in the club and loyal to it above all else. She was a high school student with braces on her teeth and a narrow view of the world. They should have never crossed paths. But when Callie decides to defy her parents, and Asa goes on an errand for the club, their lives collide. He saves her, and she mesmerizes him. They part believing they'll never see each other again.Neither could have predicted the chain of events they'd put in motion. Now the two have to navigate the dark waters of a relationship built on tragedy and need without drowning in guilt for things outside their control. How do you love someone when the worst decision of your life was the reason you met them?… (plus d'informations)

The beginning had me but then it all went back to the beginning when they first met. I was excited to find out how the situation at the first of the book was going to wrap up. I had to read the entire book with Callie making one stupid decision after another then blaming everybody else! She loves Asa so much but won't move to where he is at....HUH?? It would have been much better if only half the book had told the past parts then continued on. I hated there was so much time apart between Callie and Asa. I loved the first book but this one was nowhere near as good! ( )

I really like this author. I was a bit on the fence with this one though. Usually I love when books start with the characters are young but this one bothered me. I think it's because I expected a certain amount of the book to be about them meeting when they were young and then picking up when they were adults and the story developing from there. Instead the story started with the present then flashed back to their meeting and continued in a linear fashion from that point telling the entire five years straight through to where the story started and then it ended. There was actually nothing to the story left at that point. It was basically the end. Hmmm....

I found both the characters really annoying at times. Too much happening, however, a few parts were a surprise to me in this one instead of being obvious! Still only gets 3 stars because I couldn't reach through the screen and strangle each one of them. But I did enjoy Gram! ( )

FGMAMTC Blog Review
If you're like me, you've backed off on reading MC books. It seemed all of the sudden the indie market is full of them. This series is one that I still recommend you take the time to check out.

These books are about the Aces MC but most of the POV seems to come from the women who love them instead of within the club. Craving Redemption is the story of Grease/Asa and Callie/Calliope.

The tale begins with the ending of book 1, Callie showing up at the Aces compound flipping out. Then it rewinds to the beginning of what led to it all, Callie as a naïve 16 year old high school junior sneaking out to a party, where she has no business being, as an act of rebellion against her parents. Grease is only 20, but he was raised inside the Aces MC and has many years of life experience on Callie. He's on club business and shows up at the same party. The situation goes down hill quickly, and Asa saves Callie.
The whole night had turned into some after school special, a warning for kids who disobeyed their parents and drank alcohol.

This single instance starts the snowball rolling on all the ups and downs for the entire story, which covers the very emotional deaths, lives, trials, relationships and outcomes over several years.

There are many repeat characters we see from book 1, and probably will continue to see. We also meet several new characters. One of those is Gram, Callie's grandmother. This lady almost stole the show in my opinion. She's a spitfire full of grit and unconditional love, a soldier in life and a mother/grandmother figure to all she finds and claims.
"I'd never let one of mine face something like this alone."

"Nothin's different for me. You're still one of mine."

We met Grease in book 1, but find out about Asa in this book.
I lay there in a daze and watched him, the veins in his neck bulging and his thrusts becoming short as he reached his own orgasm.
He was the beautiful one.

There are a couple of things you should know about Asa. He is 100% against a man ever hitting a woman. I know that this was an issue for some with book 1. As far as I can tell, he isn't a cheater, which is an issue for many when reading MC or alpha books. He is super respectful while still having the bad boy appeal. His only issue is trying to give too much. A person can't give more than 100%. And that has to be divided between all the areas in the person's life.
I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone, watching the big biker speak to my Gram as if she was The Queen of England. He never once swore, though my grandma did, and his table manners were impeccable. Who was this guy?

"Baby, we're in her house. She's cooking for us, letting us crash here, and she's your grandmother. Woman deserves respect."

We also get glimpses of what is coming in the next book which will focus on Cody/Casper and Farrah. We met Casper in book 1 and Cody (pre-Aces) in book 2. Cody is Callie's brother, and Farrah is her best friend.

I love Asa. He is one of my new top book boyfriends. He has the patience of a saint and usually always knows the right move to make to give his girl what she needs. And I loved this story, although the ending did seem rushed. That part could have been smoother. I like how the story lines are going with all of the characters' lives interwoven and the layers. We learn about everyone is both books even if they aren't the main leads. It adds more depth to the story. I plan to continue to keep up with this series, and I recommend that you do the same.
