The Maxwell's own a furniture repair shop. Hope Jensen sees the opportunity as a reporter to move up. She lies to the Maxwell's when she tells them she is a college student writing a story and wants to interview them. The Maxwell's are a very welcoming family and each time she visits she becomes more attached to them. They share family stories and eventually tell her of the Christmas jars. Each year members of the family put spare change and sometimes bills in the jar. During the Christmas season they present it to someone who is in need, Hope realizes at one time she was the anonymous recipient of a jar. After many months of visiting the Maxwell family, she feels guilty about her untruths and avoids the family. As time passes, she learns some awful news of the Maxwell family is compelled to visit them again, apologizing for the lie. ( )

Christmas Jars shares the story of Hope Jensen, an aspiring journalist who uncovers the remarkable secret behind a holiday phenomenon: money-filled glass jars anonymously given to people in need. Hope desperately wants to post the story, but doing so would be a breach of trust to the family who entrusted her with the secret. What she decides to do will change her life forever. A heartwarming story that will restore your faith in humanity and make you want to start your own Christmas Jar tradition.

Hope was adopted and raised by a wonderful, single mom. Now she was alone. To top it off, after her first day back to work, she returned home to an apartment burglarized and her possessions gone! Before the police officer responding to her call left. she discovered a "Christmas Jar" outside her apartment.
Hope had always wanted to be a journalist. After the devastating loss of her mom, she was even more determined o succeed in her career. Now she had the opportunity to prove herself. The "Christmas Jar" gave her the idea she needed for a great Holiday piece of news. Little did she know how this discover would affect her life and the lives of others.
All the actors in the movies were very good. Each played his/her part well.
The plot was very interesting and touching. There was enough drama and mystery to keep the viewers interest.
This is a delightfully inspirational film, recommended for all to see during this Christmastime.
I felt it slightly lacked energy or essence in totally captivating its audience

This was sent to me with no request for a positive review. This is my honest review. ( )

This book was not what I expected. I'm not sure what I was expecting but this was not it. A wonderful book to inspire the soul and spirit of giving and Christmas. ( )

Louise Jensen was sitting alone, licking her fingers two at a time and paying serious attention to her greasy chicken leg and thigh platter, when she heard muffled crying from the booth behind her at Chuck's Chicken 'n' Biscuits on U.S. Highway 4.
