This is a really cute book that is really easy for young children and newer readers to understand and enjoy. I liked the simplicity of the story line. Simplicity allows young/new readers to follow along without getting confused or lost throughout the story. I also liked that the author uses simple, common, vocabulary as well. I found the authors choice of vocabulary to be comfortable and not intimidating, this vocab makes new readers want to read and continue reading. I did not like the repetitiveness of the story. I felt that it made the story chunky. While reading the story I found the sentences did not flow properly. Maybe it was the sentence structure or the grammar, but I felt something was off while reading the story. Lastly I enjoyed the message about responsibility the author provides her readers with. I felt that it is good to place emphasis on getting things done in a timely manor and the importance of doing homework. ( ) Dixie is an easy to read book that introduces us to the title character dog and her owner, Emma. The two embark on an outdoor adventure when its snows outside. This illustrations are fun and, overall, its an easy book to move through. My complaint is that it is REALLY repetitive. I recognize that this is an early read book, but it just makes reading the story really disjointed. There is a good message about responsibility at the center of the story, with Dixie making sure that Emma does her homework. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
Emma needs to write a poem for a school assignment, but she would rather go outside with Dixie and enjoy a snowy day. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
