The Treasury Of Bible Stories: Rhythmical Rhymes Of Biblical Times is a wonderful option for teaching little ones the Bible. Not only is it full of 20 fabulous stories from within the Bible, it is simplified and made fun by the unique rhyming quality. The addition of the whimsical cartoon illustrations makes for memorable story moments with young children. I believe the detailed illustrations were our favorite part of the whole book, not only are they cute-they provide so much more detail to the stories you are reading.

This has quickly become my young ones favorite bedtime story books, which gives me quality time to be able to add a few more details to the stories we read. The simple approach to this book gives the foundation of each story that was chosen, and easily can be adapted into a wonderful learning experience going more in depth. The rhythmic way it is written allows young children to stay involved with what you are reading, I have yet to have my young ones become bored in the way it is read aloud. This is a huge bonus, as it is easy to have them do when the same tone is used while reading.

I found that Kelly Pulley’s Treasury Of Bible Stories is going to be used over and over again, even when the kids are older. The illustrations themselves provide a fun approach that warrants revisiting, both for the young and the old. A book that should be recommended to anyone and everyone to help in learning the foundations of the books/stories of the Bible.

Treasury of Bible Stories Rhythmical Rhymes of Biblical Times by Kelly Pulley is a must have book for your children’s book collection. Because the well-known Bible stories are told in rhyme my boy’s attention was grabbed immediately.
The book is well illustrated with beautiful eye grabbing gorgeous colors. With 351 pages, and a hard cover to make it a sturdy one for little hands. We keep it by his bedside, and is the first book requested each night. A cute and accurate way to bring bible stories to life for little ones and the rest of the family, the boys can’t wait to have their story each night and have shown a lot of anticipation. Even our 9 year old is excited by the story told in great way, and they giggle and enjoy the illustrations.
A quote from the back of this book that is so true, “From “The Salty Tale of Noah’s Ark” to “The Lasting Story of the Last Supper,” the rhyming tales in this book remind us that God loves his people!” Amen!

Wow! I am blown away with Kelly Pulley’s collection of Bible stories for kids in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Actually, I think you could extend the age range, because this 50-something found Treasury of Bible Stories: Rhythmical Rhymes of Biblical Times, captivating. Clever and varied rhyme schemes, fun alliteration, interesting vocabulary – this book has it all to keep your beginning and intermediate reader turning the pages. Twenty Bible stories — from the Creation through Jesus’ resurrection and ascension — are faithfully told with detailed and expressive illustrations. It is a perfect jumping off point for discovering God through His word. This book is also so much fun! A must for family read-alongs, I highly recommend you get this book for the special child or family in your life.

Highly Recommended.

Audience: Ages 4-8 (and beyond).

The Magnificent Tales Treasury of Bible Stories: Rhythmical Rhymes of Biblical Times features twenty well-known Bible story poems illustrated by Kelly Pulley. The narrative lines up with the Biblical accounts except for a few minor discrepancies. Example: Guards at the tomb pretending to be asleep rather than fainting. As is common for this type of book, some of the less pleasant details of stories are omitted. Example: Jonah getting angry that the people of Nineveh repented. I liked that the story of Jesus' baptism was included as not many Bible story books recount that one. Each separate story has a title page which makes it perfect for reading just one or two at a time.

This collection of Bible story poems is recommended for children from four to eight years of age. I didn't realize that at the time I signed up to review it. However, my two year old loved it! We've had it around the house for at least a week now and she still looks though it every day. That's a lot more use than some of her books get...

Like most Bible story books, the narrative is a rhyming poem. The poetic meter changes between stories and sometimes even during the stories, but the lyrical quality makes it engaging for children. Unfortunately, during the story of Joseph, the only word that is used to rhyme with “dreaming” is “seeming.” Since “dreaming” is used often, so is “seeming.” It's very repetitive and probably my least favorite story in the book. However, the repetition didn't bother my daughter in the slightest and since the book is for her, it isn't a big deal.

My daughter, my husband and I liked the illustrations. This book is 352 pages long and well over half of those pages are fully illustrated. The colorful illustrations brought the stories to life for my daughter. Although the characters have strangely large knobs on their elbows and knees, it gave us something extra to giggle at as we went through the book and I consider it very well-illustrated.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
