Okay, why didn't this one work so well for me? As I've already said in the comments, this one seemed kind of simple and thin plotwise. I needed more stuff to actually happen. Also there was quite a bit of insta love. I can handle some of course. I do read romances after all but it didn't really work here. One of the major or even the only reason to read romances is to watch the romance develop between two people and let's face it to live vicariously. If the romance is shorted then there better be a heck of a plot. See the problem here? These two didn't really spend much time together and since they were both so "in love" from the beginning what exactly was I reading for? Their relationship did not develop it was just there full blown. So there was some action and it was okay but not great. The heroine was kind of dumb about how she got herself out of the predicament she was in. And then the other NS wouldn't let Smiley go rescue her. Seriously? Should't he be her hero? And did you just gyp me out of another scene of them together? Oh well, win some lose some. Not in any way giving up on this series. ( )

Smiley is the first primate we see in a relationship and it was really interesting watching him in his relationship. All the Species men are pretty tough, and they all become addicted to their mates, but I think that Smiley was, maybe not exactly needy, but needier than the other males. He needed that touch and cuddle more than other species do, and I thought that was really interesting. ( )

What a complete and utter rip off of the Breed series by Lora Leigh. I understand that concepts cannot be copyrighted, but I have a sincere lack of respect for an author that makes not even the smallest attempt at creativity. ( )

I've read this author before and really liked her werewolves, but I'm not connecting with this series. Long time readers will probably enjoy Smiley. If you're new to the series, I'd start with an earlier book. ( )
