Solid writing, good characters, and an interesting story this book was definitely a good read. Nothing earth shattering but a nice read that I would totally recommend to others. ( ) Received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. What do you do after heartbreak? Make a year long bet with your BFF to go on a date a month or face the consequences. I thought it sounded like a cheesy premise when I read about the book. I'm happy to report I was surprised that this book had depth, warmth and lots of hotness. I liked the female friendships as well as the male/female friendships and well what's not to like about Tyler? Mira Lyn Kelly just made her way to the top of my ever growing one click authors. Generally, when a book begins with two people adamantly not looking for a relationship, you know that a relationship is inevitably going to develop. In Truth or Dare, that's exactly what happens. Maggie is broken after being called out at the altar by her fiance's pregnant wife. Her confidence is shattered and she doesn't even want to attempt to get back into the dating pool. Tyler shuts himself off from everybody around him because he needs to be free to leave at any moment. He has his own mysterious reasons for not wanting to get attached. Truth or Dare is a prime example of the good kind of angst. I wasn't rolling my eyes and heavily sighing as Maggie and Tyler fought and argued and pushed against their mutual attraction. It was believable. Their connection grew against their wishes, but still seemed natural and realistic. I thought that aspect was really well-handled. The thing that I didn't like was Tyler's reason for not wanting a relationship. I don't want to spoil it, although it may not come as that big of a surprise if you read a lot of this type of novel. I'll just say that I found it weird and a little creepy, but he was still a great guy overall. Overall, Truth or Dare was a good story, and I will happily read Touch & Go, which features Ava and Sam. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the free copy! Loved it!! This is an incredibly well written story filled with great emotion. Lots of humor, angst, and sexy times. The group of characters are wonderfully developed and left you feeling like you had a new group of friends. The H/h, Tyler and Maggie, have a rocky start but whether either of them like it or not the attraction is there. However, past hurts and big secrets make a relationship impossible. This is a fantastic beginning to what appears to be a great series. Can't wait for the next book. I highly recommend this one for everyone. Tyler moves in to the apartment above Maggie in a building owned by Maggie's friend Ford and also occupied by Ford's sister Ava (also Maggie's best friend) and their friend Sam. This book seems to be the beginning of a series in which all the above mentioned people find someone to love, which is exciting since all these characters are pretty interesting. Maggie and Tyler initially rub each other the wrong way and begin trading sarcastic repartee whenever they meet in the halls. This friction quickly turns into attraction, but both have been burned before and neither wants a relationship. This becomes a struggle to manage their attraction while maintaining a friendship. The chemistry is crackling, the back story is believable and the supporting characters are definitely ready to come to the forefront of their own stories in consecutive volumes of this series. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

"After her one attempt at commitment ends in the worst kind of betrayal, Maggie Lawson vows that the only people she'll love 'til death do they part will be her friends. Unfortunately, that means Maggie letting her bestie rope her into a year-long dating dare: score a new date each month or pay a penalty. It seems doable-until Maggie's date stands her up, leaving only one option: the sexy stud who just moved in upstairs. The problem? He and Maggie can't stop fighting-and that's just the beginning. His name is Tyler Wells, and the last thing he needs is his neighbor distracting him with her girl-next-door smile and sharp tongue. Tyler's in Chicago for one reason: to woo back his selfish ex in order to reclaim the child he once thought was his-and that means keeping Maggie out of his bed. And that's a tall order since Maggie has become a bigger temptation than he ever expected to face. But before they can even consider leaving the past behind, Maggie and Tyler must accept a brand-new dare: real, forever love.". Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
