This book will be perfect for you f you love historical fiction..."But it's a modern book!" you will say. But it really isn't, this book was written in the mid-nineties and in my mind that makes this book (almost 30 years old) historical.

It is based on what we now called 'sexual harassment' in the workplace. It is NOT PC. Sexual innuendos are thrown about like confetti, sex is had during office hours, the boss could be seen as stalking, men are making sexual come-ons willy nilly and the females are manipulative witches (they had to be to get what they needed in the workplace).

But with all that aside, if you were born in the '50's, '60's or '70's you may see the historical accuracies and even the amusement behind this short novella.
If you were born later you might find this an interesting read about what women went through to get where they are now.

And if you have a really open mind you will find this one hot read!!! ( )

Sizzle is a wonderful sexy and sizzling short story. It really is a quick read, but still its a full story with a beginning, middle and end, and as its characteristic of romance it has many moments of passion.
What i loved most about this story is the premise that build itself around a single bottle of perfume and brought the two main characters together. I mean this story, albeit short, had everything you would want to read in a romance, and even captivates the reader and brings them into that little world.
My favorite part had to be the main female teaching a lesson to the male, who simply would not listen to her, ending up causing many fun and sexy moments, but also giving endless headaches to the lead.
And who doesn't love to know a kinky way to give men a lesson and make them listen? ( )

I give this short story 2,5 stars because the conversations and story were quite ok, Jane was wonderful but the Richard character just a bit too much. ( )

It seems every author has one--the book they'd rather forget. This one is Crusie's.

Emily Tate is a marketing whiz. She's very good at her job, but has a tendency to go for results and forget about the cost. Then the company hires Richard Parker whose job is to keep the budget under control. Which puts them in direct opposition on Emily's latest perfume marketing campaign.

The chemistry between them sizzles, the ad campaign sizzles, and the perfume itself, thanks to Emily's brilliant idea and leaning on the R&D guy, sizzles (think warming massage oil).

Emily and Richard would have been able to deal with their professional differences except for one problem: Richard doesn't listen.

And that's really the only problem with this novella--Richard doesn't listen, Emily calls him on it, he promises never to do it again, then something comes up, and Richard doesn't listen, rinse, and repeat. Thing is, that's such a realistic problem, I wish there'd been a more dramatic solution to it.

Otherwise, it's vintage Crusie. Great fast-paced, witty dialogue, a wonderful best friend, and, well, sizzle.

It's obviously not Jenny's best work, but I enjoyed it, and am glad I got it, beyond just making my collection complete. ( )
