This is the second book in the O'Neill series and it's Sean and Elise's story. They both thought that a relationship was the last thing they wanted until what they realized what they really wanted was each other. It's a great story and I absolutely love this group of characters. Can't wait to read the next one! I definite recommend this one! Suddenly Last Summer by Sarah Morgan Snow Crystal, VT. This love story is about Shawn O'Neil-the 2nd book in the O'neil brothers series, but a good standalone. He is a surgeon and he summered in VT. His grandfather is ill and he is summoned home to VT. Alise the head chef at the restaurant is also in VT hoping to open the Boathouse restaurant and very close to his twin, jackson. They have shared a night together and neither wants any ties. Story not only follows their past life and present reuniting but others in the family. He agrees to finish the deck for the restaurant and his grandfather doesn't want him to stick around. Love bantering among the guys when they are together, always teasing one another, so natural. We learn what happened at his fathers funeral that has turned his grandfather from him. Hot steamy sex scenes add to the story lines. Love learning about the area and the hiking overnight. Tragedies occur and breaks them up but it's just a misunderstanding, or is it? Will track down other books in this series as I love the area, the family, etc I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device). *I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review* At the beginning of the year I read the first book in this series, “Sleigh Bells in the Snow”, and I was conquered by the story and the characters, especially the O’Neil family, always getting on each other’s nerves, but always so united. “Suddenly Last Summer” is centered on the romance between Sean O'Neil and Élise Philippe who, we already knew from the last book, had spent one night together during last Summer. Since then Sean’s been avoiding, even more than before, to go to the family’s property, but now he is forced to since his grandfather Walter pushed himself too much trying to finish the deck of the new restaurant of the Snow Crystal Resort in time for its opening, collapsed and ended up hospitalized. And since Sean is a doctor, the family naturally turns to him to accompany Walter through his recovery. Which means triple hell for Sean... Not only does he have to stay at Snow Crystal and deal with Walter (who insists he doesn't need Sean and he should just return to his life in the city), he also has to spend time with Élise and manage to persuade her that the night they spent together is worthy of a repeat. Or several. Élise has found in Snow Crystal the refuge she needed and in the O’Neil family an adoptive family that she loves and that loves her back, and she doesn't want to do anything that may jeopardize that, and so she tries to convince herself that there can be nothing more between her and Sean besides that one night. But Sean decides to take over Walter’s job and finish the restaurant’s deck, which means spending a lot of time with Élise. And even after a year, the attraction between them has not diminished one bit, on the contrary... Will they be able to overcome the ghosts of the past and build a future together? It was so good to return to Snow Crystal and getting to know Sean and Élise better, as well as getting to see the whole O’Neil family again. It was very amusing to watch the scenes between them, especially because Élise makes justice to the french’s fame and has a real temper... The scene when the female staff of the new restaurant stops everything to enjoy the view, meaning Sean working shirtless on the deck, is particularly funny. I really like this series and I can hardly wait to know how the story between Tyler and Brenna is going to go, much more so because it takes place during Christmas. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
