Fun short story, and a nice way to revisit an era I read years ago while gearing up to read what comes next. Good plot, and pacing, some angles choices for certain panels were questionable at best, especially when the original/LITERAL CHILD Jean Grey is concerned, but other than that, solid book. ( )

What an underwhelming 'event' graphic novel this turned out to be. It doesn't help that if you're not current with recent X-Men comic events, this supposedly stand-alone novel won't make much sense. It has a big premise which excites at first - no more humans, only mutants! - which quickly devolves into mutants vs mutants and ends with a very Marvel-type reset because that's the only way anything could be resolved.

And although I liked the Dark Phoenix arc, the intro of the parallel universe Phoenix and the reawakening of Jean Grey in this book wasn't so much a twist ending as the writers failing to come up with a logical ending with what they had on the board already. ( )

This was a quick and fast read. It was easy to follow. I don't know if this is a stand alone series in it's own world or if it's part of the main universe. I don't hate it and it would be a nice read if your looking for something simple to read. ( )
