This was the first book in a new series about military men and the women who will bring a little softness and romance into their lives. I wanted to love this book, but I ended up just liking it instead. It revolves around Mick and Jenna and their quest to stay alive while trying to figure out how to deal with their love for each other. For some reason I liked the first half a lot more then the last half. The build up was the best part. The second half seemed as if the author was going through a checklist of things that needed to be in the book. There was plenty of action to keep the reader on their toes and pay attention, but the bad guys were a little inept at their job considering how many times they screwed up. But I guess there wouldn't have been a book if they'd got them after the first attempt. Still this book kept me interested enough to keep reading and to want to read the next one in the series.

This was a very emotional military romance that started out very good but seemed to drag a bit for me in the middle.
Jenna had lost her brother Rob in Afghanistan, and as he was dying he made his best friend Mick promise to look after his sister. Which wasn't a problem apart from the fact that Mick had had unsisterly feelings for Jenna for years.
The characters and the romance in the story is very nice but the thriller and intrigue is very weak. There is action which you need for a wake up call now and again.
I was a little disappointed. ( )
