THE IMPACT Tristan hit rock bottom, and no one felt the impact harder than Danika. She was forced to see, in the most brutal of ways, that love does not conquer all. Bruised, bloody, and broken she had to walk away. THE AFTERMATH Picking up the pieces of your life after a tragedy is a daunting prospect, and that's considering you still own all of the pieces. But what if you don't? What if someone else owns those pieces, and those pieces are a part of your soul? You dig deep and work with what you've got. That's what Danika told herself and believed, every single day, for years. Tristan and Danika's love had failed every test that life had thrown at them. She couldn't forget that, not for one second. And if those tests had been overly harsh, well, she wasn't one to wallow in self-pity. The failure was the thing she had to focus on. The failure was the lesson. She had no intention of working so hard to make it out of hell without learning that lesson well. THE REUNION Over six years after the night that changed everything, Danika finds herself forced to spend the weekend constantly in Tristan's company, as they attend the wedding of two of their dearest friends. It's been long enough that she feels they can be friendly again without it destroying her peace of mind, but just a small amount of time in his presence has her remembering something she had forced herself to forget: There'd been a reason she'd gone through hell with this man, for this man, some true good to precede the bad. She shocks herself by quickly giving in to a hunger that she never imagined could still consume her. Even the best intentioned denial has a breaking point.… (plus d'informations)

TRISTAN IS OFFICIALLY THE BEST HOTTEST BOOK BOYFRIEND EVER WRITTEN ABOUT!
I have to say that this is one of the most powerful series i have ever read! I did not think this series could have held its own with the "Up in the Air" series but boy was I wrong. It was so much better! This series broke my heart, warmed my heart, made me laugh, made me cry! This is an amazing story! You would have to be dead not to feel Tristan and Danika's love, joy, pain, heartbreak! And lets not forget the sex! Hot, steamy, panty soaking, sex! Wow! The ending was unexpected and powerful. Not your usual "we will find a way around to fixing all things broken" kind of story. But, they do in their own way and its better than you could have ever expected! READ THIS SERIES! ( )

Overall, I'd give the series 4 stars, but book 3 dragged on a little long for me, so I'd only give it 3.5 stars. I'm glad I waited for all of the books to be out before reading this series considering the way book 2 ended. At times, I wondered why these two were together because all they did was fight and have sex, but they were really young, so I'll give them a pass. ( )

All the angst, all the pain, all the torture...it was all worth it for that ending. Oh, that ending. *sigh*

R.K. Lilley is one of my "I will buy everything she publishes" authors. She creates characters that stay with you and move you. Characters so flawed yet so perfect. Tristan Vega is a royal mess, of epic proportions. However, beneath the mess is a man that you just want to win and thrive. A man that, when healed would be any woman's ideal. He is strong, he is sweet, he is a bit territorial ;) .

Danika is, as she should be, fighting to stay away from Tristan and his demons. They ruined each other. Through addiction, through co-dependency, through hurtful actions. Through it all though, they loved. Even when she hated his actions and the person he had become, she had to admit she loved him.

"Because that's how love works. It doesn't die, even when you don't feed it"

Tristan and Danika have a long road to healing. A hell of a long road. It's filled with pain and hurt. Misunderstandings and withheld information. Missteps and miscalculations. All of it is hard to witness, but so necessary. And SO well written.

As I said, it's all worth it. Every last angsty moment of it.

Another happy in this story? James and Bianca make a few appearances and let's just say... James is as swoon-worthy as ever!

This is Tristan and Danika's beautiful ever after. I loved every moment with them. Even when I was dying inside reading it.

“I wasn’t letting go of this; this mindless moment where everything felt like it had shifted back into place and all of the wrongs were right again.”

If you haven't read this series, you really, really need to. It's amazing.
