I started this and was enjoying the insecure heroine, but the plot revolves too much around age for my tastes. I don't like bug age gaps in romance and this is pretty focused on the heroine being 22, so I'm kicking it down the to-read list for later. I want to be Baba when I grow up...a feisty old woman who's not afraid to say what pops into her head. I was saddened by some of the things that happened but it's life and even in fiction in order to tell a story you have to get some sad times. How Colin and Cherri ever got over their insecurities and flaws to find one another is an out and out miracle. Sure they knew they had the hots for one another but damn, does love and relationship have to be THAT hard to work towards. And poor Cherri's depression, I get it. With all that was going on it was very understandable. What I didn't get was that even when he went to a doctor about it Colin could get no professional guidance on what to do for Cherri, I would like to think that there is a group or something out there that could have help one or both of them. The reunion of father and son was sweet. While I don't like the reasons Magnus had for 'betraying' Colin I'll overlook it seeing as he truly wanted to make amends. Couldn't the author have come up with something more...I don't know, just left a bad taste in my mouth. All in all a nice easy read. I doubt I can convey how much I enjoyed reading this book! It made me cry, made me laugh, made me happy, made me sad. Most of all it made me very glad to have discovered Sugar Jamison's books. The great story packed with fun quirky characters is one that will stay with me for a very long time, and when it begins to fade I will read it again! You have a new fan Ms. Jamison. I haven't read the first book in this series, but this can stand alone. I enjoyed this book. I thought it was very cute and fun to read. There was a lot going on, with lots of characters and past and present storylines, but to me that was entertaining and nicely fast paced. I did think that there was a big age gap between Colin and Cherri, which in itself isn't a big deal to me. In this case, it was noticable in the level of experience and maturity between the two, but I got the attraction between them and felt the sizzle. Overall, I enjoyed reading this. I thought it was well written, funny, fun and engaging. I haven't read the first book in this series, but this can stand alone. I enjoyed this book. I thought it was very cute and fun to read. "Cherri has often wished she were thin and graceful like a ballerina instead of being a six-foot-tall blonde with curves that require serious caution. Surely a charming Irishman like her new boss Colin, with his throaty brogue and to-die-for bod, would never go for someone like Cherri. Unless maybe he's looking for the exact opposite of a delicate lass? When Colin hired Cherri to work in his furniture-restoration shop, he had his eyes, first and foremost, on her artistic talents. But now he can't help but see Cherri for the lush, spirited beauty that she is ... and, soon enough, he finds himself mixing business with pleasure. But Cherri turns out to be more vulnerable than she appears. Is she in need of more than Colin can give? Or could it be that a feeling stronger than lust has him thrown for a curve?"--P.
