DNF Greenwood Island is being invaded by Emperor Hamen and will stop at nothing until the entire royal family has been exterminated, at least so he thought. Royal Commander Mako vowed to keep the last living heir safe. Seventeen years later, we see Rema has grown into a lovely young woman. She's raised by her "Aunt Maya" and her "Uncle Kar", raised on a farm, she has a love for horses. A chance encounter with Prince Darmik awakens desires to travel and seeing other lands instead of her current future as a farmer's wife. Unfortunately, Prince Darmik' s brother has more sinister plans for Rema. Will Rema fall prey to Prince Lennik's plan? Will the real heir finally return to the throne? The Key is a great coming of age story. I was engrossed in the story from the very beginning. This novel focuses on a medieval kingdom wrought by the tyranny of an evil king. There's suspenseful moments as Rema continually gets close to finding out who she really is. This even has a great romance! The only disappointing thing I found with this book is that it's a trilogy and the end leaves us hanging! I can't wait for book two to see what happens to Rema. Jennifer Anne Davis has written an amazing historical fiction novel, that I truly enjoyed and I'm sure you will too. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Nineteen-year-old Darmik is the king's son and Commander of the King's Army. He spends his days roamving the island, doing his father's bidding and trying to maintain control over the people. When a chance encounter throws Rema and Darmik together, they share an instantaneous connection, but any sort of relationship between them is strictly forbidden. Darmik's brother, the Crown Prince, notices Darmik's interest in Rema and, in a calculated, political move, blackmails her. Faced with an impossible choice, Rema is forced to sacrifice her heart in order to save her family. As Rema is taken to the palace with the Crown Prince, Darmik confronts the growing rumor that a legitimate blood heir to the throne exists and is trying to overthrow Darmik's family. In Darmik's quest to hunt down and kill the threat, he discovers that nothing is as it seems. Locked in the king's castle, Rema finds herself a key player in a massive power struggle. When Darmik shows up, she's not sure if she can trust him. The line between friends, enemies, and loyalty becomes blurred. As truths are unlocked, Rema understands that she just might be the key to finding the rightful heir and restoring peace to the kingdom... . . . if she can manage to stay alive long enough. .Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
