This is a collection of photographs of Lego art by dozens of different artists, whose styles and themes range from nature to architectural landmarks to cyberpunk. It also includes a few short interviews in which featured artists discuss their history with Lego bricks and why they have chosen it as an art form.

It's not surprising that this book spawned two sequel titles—it really is a beautiful collection sure to inspire artists and art lovers alike. ( )

I don't understand how some of these things could have been made with LEGOs, but they are incredibly cool nonetheless. There are plenty of the spaceships and action figures you'd expect, but also rotary phones, crumbling Victorian mansions, cathedrals, birds, dogs, Chinese landscapes, classic cars, scenes from Monty Python skits and Miyazaki movies, and figures like Cap'n Crunch and Stephen Hawking. Fun and inspirational (makes me wish I were more creative).

The photos aren't the best but the quality of the Lego builds is amazing and the interviews are an interesting look at the fun and challenges of building and sculpting with Lego. ( )
