"theMaiden and the Unicorn" is set during the period known as the War of the Roses and is seeped in historical detail which I really enjoyed. However, this was basically an antagonistic romance, with Margery and Richard arguing through most of the book which became rather tiresome. There were times when I really wanted to hit Margery. She was stubborn and her own worst enemy. Richard was more likeable, but rather arrogant. Overall, a forgettable read. ( ) The first book of Isolde Martyn, and rather a little gem! The Lady and the Unicorn is set during the War of the Roses and is based on the true but relatively unknown story of Margery of Warwick. Margery, whilst fleeing to France with her employer, Warwick the Kingmaker and his entourage, gets abducted. She is then taken to King Edward IV, and then sent on a peace making mission to rejoin the Warwick household and bring them back to England... I really do love this story, It is much more complex and interesting than i have written it as, but then i am not Isolde Martyn - It is also known as The Maiden and the Unicorn in th US. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
