I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

C.J. reminds the reader that you can’t assume anything because nine times out of ten your assumption could be wrong. You could also be missing out on the best thing that ever happened to you. It also shows how some people in love want to test the boundaries of what they’re comfortable with. And then C.J. gives the reader the perfect HEA ending.

This is the second book in the Walk on the Wild Side series that I have read. Carla’s story leaves me anticipating when the next book will be coming out. This is a series that once it’s complete, I look forward to rereading.

If you liked book one, you will love this one. If you haven’t read the series, make sure that once you finish this book go back and read Vanilla on Top. You can also stop over to her web site, http://www.cjellisson.com/, and look under “Books” to see what titles are available. And while you’re there, sign up for her newsletter so you can be kept up to date.

Although this story can definitely stand alone - I felt it was better having known Carla from the first book of the series Vanilla On Top (Walk On The Wild Side).

Part of the beauty of this sexy romp of a story is seeing the growth of the heroine Carla. Andy the hero, deserves his own cloud in heaven for looking beyond her outward beauty and sharp tongue.

If you like an intelligent smart mouthed heroine who learns some life lessons while caught up in a steamy tryst, grab this book right now and start reading.

C.J. Ellison has a gift for giving us multi-dimensional characters as well as steamy love scenes that will be remembered long after the batteries run out... on your e-reader! ( )

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Wow...there is everything in here. Family issues, sickness, relationship problems, heart wrenching sadness and blow your mind sex! Holy cow, the sex. As usual C.J. goes above and beyond in the jaw dropping, fan yourself hawt-damn sex department. But the diversity of "all the other" issues going on here make this book perfection. This is book two in a series (Vanilla on Top is book one) This can be a total stand alone book.
I received this book for an honest review.....how lucky was that???? ( )

This is book two in a series that I certainly recommend! This book is fun, what she said to him when he helped her into the cab was hysterical. I enjoyed how Carla grew over the course of the book. Andy is an inventive guy that was nice to read about. This is an adult book and while the sex scenes were steamy, well written, and tasteful.
if there was any drawback to the book, it was that it ended too soon. There was one more scene I would have liked to have read. If you like well written erotica that has some spice, this book is for you! ( )

Avoiding Mr. Right is the second in the Walk on the Wild Side Series for C. J. Ellisson. It is an exemplary example of erotic romance that offers so much more than just a great summer beach read. Heather (from Vanilla on Top) shares her concerns with her friend’s love ‘em and leave ‘em attitude. Carla’s character stubbornly insists that she knows what she wants. She just doesn’t realize how much she really does want a real, long lasting relationship.
Andy has his hands full, from the first chapter of the story. Carla doesn’t want to cooperate. We follow his progress with Carla while learning more about his depth of character as an honorable man that any woman would love to have in their lives.
Every emotion one explores in starting a new relationship is examined through the lenses of Carla and Andy’s past experiences. We learn of Carla’s deep seeded fears, of Andy’s desire to have a loving family experience like his folks. The excitement of the ‘firsts’, the realizations of growing desires, and deepening relationship are all explored with the delightful writing style of Ms. Ellisson. You feel like these characters become a part of your family. You feel yourself rooting for them, and wanting to pop them upside the head.
I know this is one book that I’m going to read over and over. I laughed, I cried, and nodded thinking “Amen, Sister” as I read it. It really is one of my favorite books. ( )
