This book is a great example of a circle book and is one I would read to 3rd graders and have a group discussion with them. Since it is a circle book it is great for predicting what will happen at the end of the book. Mrs. Arbuckle was lonely and has been looking for a pet. All throughout her trip with an orange tabby cat, they are both trying to find the perfect pet for her but none of the other animals seem to fit her standards. After the trip, Mrs, Arbuckle and the cat are sitting down together and it turns out that the cat doesn't have an owner after all and becomes Mrs. Arbuckle's pet! ( ) A pet for Mrs. Arbuckle begins with a lady who wants to find a pet and a neighborhood cat who is willing to help her search. After a long and thorough search around the world (where all animals are unsuitable) Mrs. Arbuckle returns home only to realize the cat is her perfect pet! I enjoyed this book because of all the animals portrayed and because I recognized the cats motives before Mrs. Arbuckle did. I would use this book in my teaching when discussing foreshadowing or circular stories. This story is suitable for Grades 1-3 and would best be suited for a discussion about circular tales. This book is about a woman who travels all around the world in search for a pet when all along there was one with her the whole time. I enjoyed this book because it introduces children to different places around the world and what animals can be found there. I would recommend this book for grades 1-3. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
