Toxic (Sex and Chocolate) by Belinda McBride, was a short and enjoyable novella. For me a three star read, mainly for length, lack of more info on Abraxas, more back-story and character development. There was no shortage of material in the story that could have been used to expand the books plot, and build more character development, adding to the characters differences, how they came together in the pack,and the mystery of the shadow group named Abraxas. The connection between Rico and Briony was rather instantaneous, and lust filled. Briony accepted that Rico was a wolf without second thought, and with very little surprise, this seemed a bit unrealistic to me, but didn't spoil the overall story for me.

This book confused me. I thought it was a first in a series but it doesn't read that way. I felt as if I'm missing a huge part of the story. It was kinda all over the place. I liked the blurb and thought this was going to be a cute quick romance between a veterinarian and wolf shifter, but what I got was a mystery covert company, weird acting wolf shifters, a mental momma, an alpha that questions himself, and very little interaction between the two main characters.
