In the Afterlight: Spoiler Review I really loved this book! I gave it five stars. It was a strong ending to this series and left limited loose ends. I will always want more from this story because I was so captured by the world but overall I loved the book.
 
I loved seeing the new group dynamics and also seeing how the story ended. I loved seeing the end and how the truth about the illness was shown. I also enjoyed seeing most of the characters have some type of ending with their parents because I have been waiting for that since book one. It was really important for me to have ruby have that.
 
I loved seeing how complex Liam and Ruby relationship and how his brother really acted as wedge in that relationship. i loved the last 50 pages of the book and seeing old characters again. The book has been become one of my fav series and can't wait to read more by this author. 
I still love Chubs and Liam so much and really grew to like all the other characters in the book. I loved the last scene of this book and also can't help hoping for more from this world!

This was a good conclusion to the series. This is the longest of the books, and it does a lot. A lot of this book is planning for battles, or fighting battles, but it continues to be a strong and interesting book that keeps the reader emotionally connected to the characters. There were a few character deaths I could have done without (one in particular) but all in all I was happy with how this series concluded. ( )

What an amazing trilogy! I loved seeing Ruby especially grow into her powers and become able to help those she had formerly been victimized with. I thought the ending of this was just great, had really good action and brought all of our main characters to a satisfying ending point, which is exactly how I want to feel at the conclusion of reading something this long. Really well done.

In terms of outcomes for the characters, I was sorry for Clancy, but he was really too much of a danger to allow to keep his powers. I loved the reunion of Ruby and her parents. And the gang driving off in a car to end things, no longer in danger was a lovely ending. Very much enjoyed this trilogy! 4/5 stars. ( )

I felt like things were tied up a little too neatly and it didn't feel as authentic for the Darkest Minds universe (after everything that has happened to them in the last 7-10 years).

Four stars only for the ending/last chapter or two.

I loved everything up until that point though. (And I don't hate the ending, it just didn't do it for me as much as the rest of the book.) ( )
