Before the 2 books in this omnibus, I wasn't particularly impressed with Paige's character--she just didn't seem to have much of one. But I really really enjoyed these 2 books. Paige is an intelligent, hardworking, compassionate woman, who gets a whole lot of non-support from those who should be helping her (particularly her coven), and copes admirably with a truly terrible set of circumstances out of her control. Her guardianship of Savannah is reinforced, rather than hurt as her coven supposes, by her handling of the circumstances she finds herself in.

Another nice touch is the developing relationship between Paige & Lucas...witch and sorcerer. They are so perfect for each other, I just can't help but enjoy every conversation they have.

Kelley Armstrong is a progeny when it comes to supernatural writing. Her books leave you breathless with their racy romances, the constant struggles, and the exciting stories. She does all of this effortlessly and you have no choice but to plummet without stumbling straight into her world. She has created such a strong presence in all of her characters that everything about them makes them seem real! You get so caught up in their stories that you feel you are a part of them. I cannot say enough good things about Kelley! ( )
