Charming story about two sisters discovering that playing together is better than playing alone. ( ) In my opinion, Peanut & Fifi have a ball, is a perfect story for readers looking for a book with a big idea of sharing. This big idea of sharing is seen in the illustrations, as well as the writing, as the two girls come to a happy ending. The illustrations fit the mood of the story so well. Like any child getting a new toy, they do not want to share. So, the little sister in this case will not let go of her new ball making the big sister think of any way possible to get a turn. The big sister, Fifi, in the illustrations looks desperate to play with little Peanuts ball, while Peanut looks spiteful and worried throughout the book that her big sister will get it from her. Furthermore, the illustrations are so simple with just a touch of color. In my opinion, I like how this book is not so overwhelming with color. The writing in this story is so very engaging because of how the sisters interact. Their interactions make the readers immediately share their thoughts about what is happening between the two girls and what they could do to resolve their conflict. An example from the book that supports my opinion is: “…Fifi wanted to play with it. ‘Basketball?’ But Peanut just hugged her ball tighter.” All Fifi wanted to do was play together with Peanuts new ball, but Peanut wanted nothing to do with sharing. The writing is so simple, yet, engaging, and without the pictures you couldn’t get a real sense of the mood of the story. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
