Not exactly what I would call a full volume. This was more of an introductory story - Although it was a great introduction to the characters. I am looking forward to the next installment I just hope that it is longer. The writing is on par with other Esmont novellas I have read (which I also enjoyed). The characterization is also excellent but it ended too abruptly even for a series. By: William Esmont Published By: W.E. Age Recommended: Adult Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: 3 Book Blog For: GMTA Review: "A Wasting Time" by William Esmont was a good dystopian sci-fi thriller read.It was of a story of the future...'dystopian world' with robots that drill through the rock to find anything of use and this is where Angus Mundy comes into the picture. It seemed he 'owed the boss a lot of money'...and this story will take off from here. 'This story was of Angus and his daughter Hilary and how much damage drugs can do.' To get into this story and it will be a short one you must pick up this read to see what will come out of this situation. It will be a quick read so you will not get bored because before you know it ...its over. Will there be a conclusion? You will be left wondering if there will be another part to this read. I thought this was a good sci-fi read but it seemed unfinished read. Cette critique a été rédigée pour LibraryThing Member Giveaways. It’s hard to describe A Wasting Time by William Esmont. Junkie Angus Mundy is trapped in a no-way-out existence, working like a slave, for slave wages, he barely makes enough to feed his drug habit, and certainly not enough to pay the debt he owes to a bookie-loan shark. When the loan shark offers him a way out; assassinate the Chinese manager of the robot-dominated mine in which he works, and the debt is cancelled, Angus sets out on a path that must lead to his doom. But, will he take Hillary down with him?I won’t spoil the ending by telling you whether he does or not; you have to read this tense, tightly written thriller for yourself. Esmont has a way of ratcheting up the tension until your nerves a strumming like a well-tuned Strad, and then easing you down, only to jack you back up again. If you like stories with twists, tantalizing bits of erotica – never fully described, but hinted at in such a way, the mind does the rest – this is a must-read book. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

I really enjoyed this first book. At least I hope there is more coming....
I have enjoyed all of William's previous books and this one does not disappoint.
I like the shift in time. It brought everything together even though it was short.
I like how he had the Chinese running everything and the currency was now the Yuan.
I would love to see where this storyline goes..... ( )
