{My thoughts} – Bird and Squirrel are a nice little duo that are complete polar opposites. Bird loves to do things without thinking it through first. Squirrel is more of the micromanaging type of character.

The illustrations in this book are a great additions to the text on the pages. I really enjoyed flipping through and reading this book. Both Bird and Squirrel are on the path to going to the South together. They have some bumps along the way, but in the end it all seems to work out. The best part I think is that they end up becoming friends. In the beginning of the book you would have not been able to think that was an actual possibility.

I really enjoyed reading this book and I think it will make a great addition to any child’s bookshelf. I think that it has the potential to become a loved book for any child that gets the pleasure of reading it. It has a nice combination of seriousness and humor, which makes for a fun read all around. ( )

A totally serviceable story about unlikely friends, the carefree bird and the worrywart squirrel, trying to escape the clutches of an evil cat who wants to eat them. It's a nice, bright graphic novel that will be an easy sell to most fans of the genre. ( )

I was not surprised to learn that the author was an animator before he started writing books because reading this book was like watching a cartoon.
Everyone's facial expression was perfect, and the cat was hilarious. I now love Bird and Squirrel and must have more. ( )

This is a cute comic style graphic novel about a bird who does not have a care in the world, he loves to fly and is not worried about much of anything. He meets squirrel who seems to be afraid of everything! After Squirrel uses his entire winter stash of food to save Bird from the killer cat, Bird talks squirrel into an adventure South where he promises plenty of food and safety from the cold winter. They overcome many obstacles on the way and become best friends in the end. ( )

Very cute graphic novel about the unusual friendship of a carefree Bird and fearful Squirrel and how they have to work together to escape the clutches of Cat and other creatures. ( )
