Richard Fornek is shocked to discover he has acquired not only a different identity, but also a new body after recovering from a coma in a North Carolina hospital. Although he recalls every detail of his life as Richard Fornek-his job back on the West Coast as a structural engineer, and his stormy thirteen-year marriage to Karen-his appearance is that of local warehouse worker Dan Curtis. Traumatized, he insists that he's Richard Fornek, but when faced with the prospect of incarceration in a psychiatric hospital, has no choice but to live as Curtis; including accepting his marriage to Curtis's spunky wife, Elizabeth. Before long, Fornek finds himself beginning to fall for Elizabeth, but the accusation of the murder of Curtis's former lover throws a wrench in the blossoming relationship. Fighting to prove his innocence, he attempts to plead his case to his only confidante, a Baptist minister. If all fails, he will be faced with the death penalty and losing the woman he has grown to love. Steeped in mystery, suspense, and a touch of humor, Fractured Persona by Harry James Krebs is guaranteed to keep readers guessing from the first page to the last.… (plus d'informations)

I enjoyed this book despite a few flaws as the writing flowed and the plot was straightforward and fun and easy to follow.
That the main character loves a woman simply based on her looks and that she acts like a child was almost insulting...and I am a man. I would have enjoyed that storyline and respected the main character more if this female character had been more interesting.
To be honest the worst thing about this book is the cover. I literally looked at all the covers in my Kindle app and picked what I thought would be the worst book based on the cover so that I could read a bit, hate what I was reading and delete the book from my phone. After seeing this cover in my Kindle app I wondered why I had even downloaded the book. So I guess you can not read a book by its cover.

Wow, what a read. This book kept me on my toes the whole way through. Such an interesting storyline, filled with lifelike characters that literally jump off the page. The storyline is a novel concept of one man awakening in the body of another after he is involved in a car accident. His initial shock and confusion are so real, and his reactions to certain events are comical in their reality. Throughout the book, one jumps between several murder suspects and it impossible to decide who the real killer is. The end provides an interesting twist to keep you guessing and wondering at the mysteries of life. A must read for all mystery fans! I will certainly be following this author's books very closely and reading them all! ( )

What would happen if you woke up in a different body? That is what happened to Richard Fornek. As he comes out of a coma he remembers his life but everyone is calling him Daniel Curtis, and looking in the mirror confirms he is not himself. As he tries to figure out what happened, he assumes the life of Daniel, but things turn complex. Murder is involved and if he can't figure out when wrong his life will be in jeopardy.

A page turning psychological/murder/suspense with a touch of romance. A great story line, one that kept me up late at night wanting to read just one more chapter. I could not wait to see how the story ended. Very original, I loved Fractured Persona from the very first page until the last. ( )
