In all honesty, I'm pretty sure this is pretty realistic to some degree, but it still is a turn off. And it happens with ANOTHER male character. WTH? They're not really banging the women they want. I have to admit, this does not endear me towards the characters. It actually evokes a fair amount of disgust. The love scenes were either giggle or cringe worthy. Between the two main characters, I didn't feel any emotion other than lust and so it felt rather unbelievable when the author tried to make it seem like it was so much more. The heroine's actions and how she kept lying to the hero made the romance just that much harder to swallow. The fact that she never came clean, only tried to explain when her actions were outed. That's not how you treat someone if you love them. Sorry. I really liked the world building and ideas that set in these books rather than the actual characters. I enjoyed the last two books, but I wasn't wowed by any of the characters. His book did not disappoint and was an entertaining read. What I Loved: DEX! What I have always loved about Dex through out the series is that he stays who he is at the core. He is loyal, fierce, and stubborn. These are not always good traits but they are ones that he uses in his daily life. He makes bad decisions and doesn't make excuses for them. He either tries to make it better or just owns up. There is something very enduring about those qualities. What I Liked: Jes was a great match for Dex. She was smart, cunning, and capable. She was also flawed, which is something that made her perfect for Dex. She also makes bad decisions but she does them for overall good. I felt she went to far a couple of times but in the end it all worked out. What I am excited to see more of: Mahone---I am really digging his character! Also, Knox's brother is becoming more and more intriguing. What I am unsure about: The whole melt down at the end (not giving anything away--it just didn't seem right to me)and Cy being only 16. I know he is a Dragon Shifter--shorter life span, grow up faster but I don't know if I will be able to get past that. Overall--this was a fun read that was enjoyable.
