(Both in this time and in the future) is the coolest thing in this TPB and that's saying something because it seemed like every time I turned a page there was something great that came next. There was the woman and this unknown force that seemed to be trying to destry him. Flash/Superman stuff, Batman (Bruce not Dick)/Superman stuff. There was even some Livewire stuff that was great (and I usually have found her story lines tedious and annoying). The entire volume and the previous volume as well seems to be a way to clear up and resolve a lot of the parts of the Superman stories that had been sort of left hanging either before the New Krypton story or after it. A fairly interesting storyline in which Superman is beset by self-doubt after the destruction of New Krypton and the death of Pa Kent. For a time this is magnified in him and spread to another human by a Kryptonian artifact. The first story, in which Superman uncharacteristically orders Lois to kill a story exposing a company's pollution because it would shut down the company and destroy the town's economy, was a bit of a shocker. Later it became apparent that the Kryptonian sunstone was partly to blame. An interesting story that explores some of the ideas behind Superman's self-doubt, and they are too rarely debated in a series about a nearly all-powerful being. But I've seen it done better. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
After the devastating events of WAR OF THE SUPERMEN, Superman looks to reconnect with the roots of his battle for Truth, Justice and the American Way. 'Grounded' begins as Superman visits Philadelphia--on foot--then continues in a small town in Ohio where, as in many towns, a number of its residents are from other places. But when the Man of Steel discovers that there are also a number of residents secretly from other worlds, he unravels a mystery that may have grave consequences for Earth. Superman meets the new Wonder Woman for the first time! But why can't he shake the feeling that he already knows her? The Man of Steel will have to figure that out later, as the two heroes have their hands full defending Omaha, Nebraska from the evil Keres, a supernatural force determined to rid the town (and the world!) of all Amazons--and they're not too crazy about Kryptonians, either.
