It was nice to revisit Brandon but I would have liked a little more story. ( )

This is going to be a short and sweet review since the book is only 35 pages in length. This is Brandon Ross’s story. We first met Brandon in WICKED TIES. He is Morgan O’Malley's half bother and former friend of Jack Cole. He is a former friend because he slept with Jack’s wife. The relationship didn't come to anything because Kayla, the wife, had more problems and drama than good sense. Kayla and Brandon have finally come to a parting of the ways and Brandon is ready to get on with his life. This story picks after he has been elected to a city council position and is following his dream of public service through the political arena. Brandon is a nice guy that got caught up in a damsel in distress situation. He is a caring and loving brother and friend. He feels guilty for causing Jack so much pain.

Emberlin Evans has worked for Brandon for the last three years. She is an efficient assistant that has fallen for her handsome boss. When Kayla shows up at the office she thinks that she will never have Brandon. She is surprised that he is interested in her as a lover. Emberlin is a crusader and caring and loving individual. She is passionate about saving the lives of first responders because her Dad died due to poor equipment.

This is a very short story that could have been expand just a little and been made wonderful. We know quite a bit about Brandon from Wicked Ties but there isn't enough time to find out much about Emberlin. There is a lot of steamy hot sex and a little conversation. This story is a great tidbit that will give new reads and taste of what Ms. Black is capable of when she writes a longer story. I just wish she had spent more time developing the relationship between the two characters. I also wish she had continued with her Domination and submission theme. It is a good quick read that will leave wanting more of this series. ( )
