It has a fairytale like quality and as I read it I was addicted from beginning to the end. What a wonderful novella! ( )

This was a surprisingly decent read. I first I thought it would be the usual plot, girl somehow meets guy, they like each other, something bad happens and their split apart, then the realization, and everything ends happily ever after. This one actually gave a twist to the classic format and I found that to be rather enjoyable. I hate the main characters sister simply because of how well the writer did making her an awful person. I thought this was a good read and would probably recommend it to someone who likes a shorter story. ( )

This was a wonderful yet short novella. I know I know the whole point of a novella is to be just that a novella but I would have LOVED to see this as a full story book. One that should be and could be a really nice change in romance. The ending was sweet but I almost wish in a way that it would have ended better than it did. I wish that Del’s feelings for Ellie would have changed but we all know and love those romance stories. I just couldn’t help falling in love with this one.

I diverge back to what I was saying before short.. To short but great I really do wish that there was more I could say without ruining the book and what happens however I can not wait for more from Laura Lond and absolutely look forward to the day she may change her mind and decide to dip back into the world of Ellie and Del and tell us what else has happened if there might ever be more.

Quick and fast read pick it up and fall in love with the characters as I have. ( )

A very well developed science fiction plot. The myth was realistic, dramatic, romantic, and fantastic enough to be believable. The characters quickly earned my sympathy. Well done in terms of story, romance, setting, period, character development, momentum, flow... I loved the way this story was written and I loved the story itself. ( )

A nice short story about two sisters. Ellie works as a upstairs maid while Leatra works as a scullar kitchen maid. Both sisters are rather plain and poor and no one at the dances ask them to dance. Ellie is nice and kind while Leatra is selfish. They have 8 other brothers & sisters at home that are younger. Ellie gets told that the story is true about a merman's kiss will bring beauty and wealth but Ellie does not dare and Leatra does decide to try. Its a good short story. It keeps you interested. I was given the ebook to read in exchange of honest review. ( )
