Across Brattleboro, Vermont, rich people (some with dark secrets) are waking up in their high security, alarm-equipped homes to find a Post-It note stuck to their bedside tables reading, "You're it." There is little sign of disturbance anywhere, nothing stolen (that anyone admits) and only a bit of expensive food eaten as a signature. The press loves the story and dubs the burglar the Tag Man. But who is he? And what's he actually doing? In fact, he's quickly running for his life, for what he discovers in one of these houses appears to be proof of a heinous string of murders. But is it? Joe Gunther, struggling to recover from a devastating personal loss, leads his VBI team to untangle the many conflicting pieces of evidence, while the burglar himself struggles for survival in the no-man's land between the police and the villains. No one knows what to believe or who to trust. Tag Man is running for his life in a way he never imagined possible. No one knows who's watching as they sleep-or who truly did what. Tag Man is critically acclaimed author Archer Mayor at his very finest.… (plus d'informations)

Belated birthday ... I had to read it first! -- E. Smith. ( )

Joe Gunther and the Vermont Bureau of Investigation is brought into the scene for two interrelated cases. A housebreaker using the name Dan Kravitz breaks into a number of homes and leaves a sign that they have been tagged.

Dan makes two mistakes. One home is owned by a gangster who has a home security system so knows what Dan looks like. He sees that Dan looked at info in the homeowner's computer and thinking he now has valuable info, he orders a hit on Dan.

In another home, Dan finds photos of women who were murdered many years ago. When he goes back the man is waiting for him and a confrontation occurs.

There is good pacing, dialogue and suspense. Well done. ( )

I enjoyed this the most of all the Joe Gunther series. Perhaps because he was back in Brattleboro for the most part. Joe and his cohorts were helping out the Brattleboro Police rather than working on a Vermont Bureau of Investigation case. Loved the ending. ( )

Refreshing plot and characters, right recipe of suspense, thrills, and people study to keep one from putting it down ( )

Joe Gunther is still mourning his friend Lyn's murder, but getting involved in the case of the mysterious tag man helps with his healing. The reader knows quickly who the tagger is, but the story becomes more comp;icated when he in turn becomes the target of some bad guys. ( )
