This is a very inspirational book and one I will return to often in the future. Many people get caught up in the personality that was Bruce Lee but this book shows his deep love for philosophy. ( ) Perhaps the most comprehensive and in-depth look into Bruce Lee's personal philosophy. For those who say Bruce Lee wasn't all that original miss the point completely. Firstly, he never claimed ownership of the things he wrote, nor did he, I suspect, ever intend to publish any of it. These are notes and personal journals. There's a lot of Krishnamurti, Musashi, Lao Tzu, etc in there, but that is what Bruce Lee did; he is a master collector, and he knew how to apply that knowledge to himself and his own life. I liked this book although at times I found it hard to comprehend or explain to people. Bruce Lee believed that all knowledge is ultimately self-knowledge and although the martial art he was creating Jeet Kune Do is highly effective in combat and set the blueprint for modern MMA. Bruce Lee believed that Jeet Kune Do is much more than a way to bash someone but rather it should be incorporated into your everyday life. This book deals with the philosophical side of Bruce Lee and Jeet Kune Do and how he has incorporated the Jeet Kune Do philosophy in every aspect of his life. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
During his lifetime, legendary martial artist Bruce Lee formulated a complex personal philosophy--a synthesis of Eastern and Western ideals--that extolled the virtues of knowledge and total mastery of one's self. However, most of his philosophical writings could be found only within the personal library of the Bruce Lee estate--until now. The Warrior Within is the most comprehensive volume of these teachings, meant to help you apply Lee's philosophies to your own life. This unique guide reveals such life-affirming secrets as: Seeing the totality of life and putting things into perspective Understanding the concept of Yin and Yang Defeating adversity by adapting to circumstances Tapping into inner spiritual forces to help shape the future With a foreword by Linda Lee Cadwell and photographs and other memorabilia from Bruce Lee's short but celebrated life, The Warrior Within is an engrossing and easy-to-understand guide to the little-explored world of Bruce Lee. John Little has been identified as "one of the foremost authorities on Bruce Lee in the world" by Black Belt magazine. He edited a three-volume series for the Bruce Lee estate and has written articles for several publications, including Men's Fitness, Official Karate, and Inside Kung Fu.
