Bad. All around bad. Told from the perspective of teen(?) twister (physic) Alice, the writing is poor even if you take it from a journal perspective. The characters are flat and lame. The dialogue is awful and even 25 pages in I still can't see where the plot is going. I skipped ahead and there wasn't any change. Sorry but I can't reccomend this for anything more than the shredder. ( )

This story is in its own way entertaining, but a bit too far gone in its trying to be youthful, speedy, doesn't quite fit together. Jumpy like a film script. But what the heck: everything doesn't have to be serious. ( )

This book was so entertaining, I could barely put it down. Great character development. Great plot. Great settings. Just great! Thought provoking, imaginative, creative, and extremely entertaining. The characters are likeable, and in the end, I LOVED Alice! I absolutely cannot wait to see if Kinnie writes a sequel! ( )

Alice is the story of a girl who has a special gift, something like psychokinesis but I think probably much more. From the description I read for psychokinesis it only involves the movement of objects and Alice's abilities extend much farther than that. Alice calls this ability her magic hands. Anyway, Alice discovers her magic hands at a very young age and when her mother catches her using them to adjust her blocks her mother is so scared that she abandons Alice. So Alice spends most of her childhood in and out of different foster homes, most of which are not very nice. So Alice is a very cynical person who does not trust anyone. When Alice becomes a young woman she meets others who also have special abilities like hers. This story chronicles her life and experiences with her magic hands.
The story is told in the first person narrative. The charaters are well developed and the story is well written. I really enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to others. ( )

Ernest Kinnie is one of those rare writers who broadens the readers' horizons as they read. With his nonacceptance of the limitations and "laws" of time and space, his next novel will take the reader into just as strange a character and world as his last few novels. Alice, a shockingly smart girl, has the ability to use her "invisible hands" to manipulate time and space. The reader follows Alice as she experiences her ability at a very young age all the way through her teens, where she uses her ability for mischief. Alice is a well-developed character that the reader may initially feel sorry for (not the best life in the world), however, Alice soon makes it clear that she wants no pity-her ability and way of laughing at the world keep her happy. The reader will be kept laughing at Alice's antics and in awe of her power. After reading this book, the reader may even question the laws and limitations of time and space him/herself. This novel is unique, as is all of Ernest Kinnie's previous novels. To miss out on reading this novel would be a crime. This book is terrific for teens/young adults/adults who don't mind a character who tells it like it is and keeps it real. ( )

In high school I learned all about linear time and Euclid’s three dimensions. The dumb teacher figured he had the whole universe figured out. Nope. Time and space twist and squirm all over the place. When he reached for his chalk, my magic hand moved it a little to the left. He hid his surprise the best he could. I give him credit for that. But the 4th time the chalk moved he freaked. His simple minded universe fell apart, and his little brain just wasn’t up to the challenge. (page 3)
