This is a review of the audiobook edition:

If you could sum up Take No More in three words, what would they be?
An artful puzzle

What does Shiromi Arserio bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I loved the nuanced voice and the suspenseful interpretation of the story by Shiromi Arsenio. The performance was riveting to listen to.

Any additional comments?
Structured by time and place, part I of TAKE NO MORE occurs Friday to Sunday in London; The rest occur in Florence. Part II occurs six days earlier; part III four days later; part IV six days earlier; part V four days later. So right away you realize how the author goes back and forth in time, challenging you to piece this puzzle together.

When the protagonist, James Blake, finds his wife murdered, he starts piecing together her work for a dangerous Italian family. For him, this is both an intellectual and an emotional challenge. As an art conservator, she was hoping to find a lost paintings, `Leda and the Swan' which may have been painted over to save it from destruction.

Carefully researched, the story is anchored in real facts in art history (Michaelangelo’s Leda and the Swan is missing.) From these details, which grant authenticity to the writing, the author has cast a wide web of imagination. In composing this story, Seb Kirby adds to the magic of the wonderful words and stories he discovered in the treasure trove of books in his grandfather’s mobile lending library. ( )

Man comes home to his London apt and finds his wife dead. He received a cryptic message from her on his cellphone and he takes off and goes to Florence to find out what art authentication project she was working on that got her killed. He starts his investigation and ignores the danger in taking on the local Mafia don. ( )

Author Sybil Hodge:

'Wow! This is action-packed from page one, and the reader is instantly thrust into murder, suspense, and intrigue. James is just a normal guy who thinks he has a normal life. Until the murder of his wife. He's forced on a journey from the UK to Italy to find her killers, and finds himself in the midst of a powerful Italian family, the hunt for precious works of art, and danger at every turn. The writing gives you the feel of actually being in Italy - you can taste and smell it. The plot is action-packed and a real page-turner. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys a great crime thriller! And fans of Harlan Coben and Simon Kernick will love it!'

Sue Palmer:

'This is an outstanding debut novel by Seb Kirby. He captivates the reader from the first page, and remains gripping and compelling throughout. could not put this book down. Listed under Murder, Mystery and Thriller but so much more than that. The geography of London and Florence was handled very well to add richness to the novel, alongside the authors' obvious love and knowledge of the art world. In addition to this, the reader is taken into the Italian underworld weaving a web of corruption, deceit, secrets and murder around the whole plot. If you enjoy a really good Thriller, in the style of Sidney Sheldon with extras, and are prepared to be kept on the edge of your seat throughout, this book is a definite must! I am eagerly awaiting the next novel.'

Author John Harding:

'The comparisons with Harlan Coben are well merited because this is a gripping thriller in the same vein. It begins with the aftermath of a violent act and doesn't let up until the end. As an author who always aims for momentum and suspense myself, I take my hat off to Kirby. I was interested to read on his Amazon page that he'd grown up on a mixture of fine literature and pulp fiction such as Zane Gray westerns, which must have something to do with his style mix of good writing and pacy action. Well recommended for a quick (there's not enough of it, but I mean that in a nice way) and exciting read. Definitely one for your Kindle Holiday Reading collection.' ( )
