Bubba and Beau, Best Friends displays the baby version of the saying, "man's best friend." The story is about a baby boy and a little puppy both born at the same time and their adventures together. They are best friends, and like all of the same things. I think this is a cute story about the beginning relationship of a boy and his dog. I feel like this could be a relate able story for children because many families have pets and consider their pets part of the family. Bubba and Beau do everything together; from playing in mud, to hiding from their mothers, the book really conveys their close relationship. I think the illustrations are well done, the illustrator uses a lot of lines to convey things like emotion and the age of the characters. The illustrations also provide the setting the story takes place and some things you would see in real life. For instance, when Bubba and Beau are born the fathers truck has "It's a Boy!" written on it. The car also displays two American flags on the side of the car. I think it would be interesting to see if children noticed these little details and were able to connect them with things they see in the real world. ( ) Bubba (a baby) and Beau (a puppy) are best pals. They grow up together and share lots of "new baby" traits: they both love to chew on things, they aren't potty-trained, and they're both attached to their blanket (smells good!). The narrator's voice is a little bit country which adds to the fun - "Sister, those two got along." Engaging voice and silly illustrations make this a fun read aloud for toddlers through grade 1. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
