I loved this book for its honest portrayal of the difficulties faced by the men & woman on the ground in what has turned out to be another failure of war in Afghanistan ( ) A straight to the point account of all the skirmishes and ambushes of every kind the author was involved in, there's not much in the way of personal relations amongst the soldiers or day to day life in the war zone. In a really nice touch the author reserves most of his personal opinions about how the conflict is handled by the higher ups for the epilogue, where he also offers an update on what (and how) he and the others were doing months after the facts. In my opinion what the book lacks in literary quality it more than makes up for with its simplicity and innate honesty. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
Doug Beattie MC returns to Helmand Province for one final tour before retiring - and it's the most bloody and brutal conflict yet. This book offers an insight into a campaign which is involving ever larger numbers of British service personnel. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
