Maeve Kerrigan is working on a case, The Burning Man, with Rob and other staff. When a woman stabs a man due to the tension around the case, they think they have their man, but realize they don't. Then, a woman, Rebecca Haworth, is killed in a similar fashion to the burning man MO. They head to Rebecca's apartment, where they find her friend, Louise, cleaning. Louise tells Maeve that Rebecca's ex, Gil, is violent. As Maeve and team investigate the burning man case, Maeve has doubts about Rebecca's connection to the case. When Maeve gets too close to the case, and is injured, her life takes a big turn. But, this might be what she needs to solve the case. This compelling mystery might have rated higher except that some passages, notably the plot reveal at the end, was somewhat long. In addition, aucune critique | ajouter une critique

"The Burning Man. It's the name the media has given a brutal murderer who has beaten four young women to death before setting their bodies ablaze in secluded areas of London's parks. And now there's a fifth. Maeve Kerrigan is an ambitious detective constable, keen to make her mark on the murder task force. Her male colleagues believe Maeve's empathy clouds her judgment, but the more she learns about the latest victim, Rebecca Haworth, from her grieving friends and family, the more determined Maeve becomes to bring her murderer to justice. But how do you catch a killer no one has seen when so much of the evidence has gone up in smoke?"--Jacket flap. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
