This is maybe really a 2-1/2 star book for me. It had a great premise but it didn't really hold my interest. The middle section where they were in the entirely too too too whimsical hidden genie city really dragged. It was just like a mad festival, Carnival if you will, of magic. I felt a bit like I was in some psychedelic children's song. The end of the book picked up again but was pretty syrupy sweet. Thankfully this was light hearted so I didn't have to invest much in trying to understand the world or make sense of any magical rules. I also am fairly certain that I won't be interested in picking up the next one in the series when it comes out. ( )

Great premise, a fictional account suggested by the I Dream of Jeannie TV series. The backstory of genies dating back to Roman times is wonderful, the magical details are well worked out. The romance is a little over the top, a little too perfect.

Great fluffy romance. ( )

Not my cup of tea, cute and humorous sort of chick lit with paranormal thrown in, good writing as well. I just haven't been in a mood for those kind of books for quite sometime already.

As I often say, I really wanted to love this book. I was looking for something fun to read and it was not anything like I was expecting. I couldn't get into the book at all, not at all. I also felt that the main characters fell a bit flat, even the talking cat --come on how much fun is a talking cat? was not fun either. I was sad I didn't enjoy this book. I liked the premise though...would have been amazing if I could have gotten into it. ( )

This was rather a fun story to read. Totally make believe but it does take you on a magical journey. The eBook has 300 pages on the Nook.

Down-on-his luck Matt Ewing has the good fortune of a 2,000-year-old magic genie falling right into his lap. Beautiful and independent, Eden isn't so keen on having to answer to yet another master. Then, after centuries of being alone, Eden suddenly finds herself falling for Matt. ( )
