This book is not the most well-written, but it is very informative. It thoroughly explains the foster care system, including all the different jobs of the people they'll meet. It also lists lots of reasons why a child would be brought into the foster care system. It reminds children that it is not their fault that they are in foster care! It goes through a lot of different emotions and worries a foster child faces. This book contains so much great information, and I feel like a child's mind is often eased when they understand what is going on. The language is simple and basic, and there are not many noticeable stylistic elements. There are not many children's literature options for foster care children, so I am very glad that it is becoming a more frequent topic. I hope that the resources continue to grow so that there does not need to be a compromise between quality of the book and information on the topic. ( ) This book goes over many of the "maybes" in a situation like this. Sets examples of feelings, questions, emotions. There is reassurance in the book as well. Talks about how the child is loved by many people. Talks about lots of other people involved in the foster care process.
