A Taste of Blood and Roses is a collection of primarily vampire short stories with a few non-vampire ones. There's not a bad story in the bunch.

The best ones are the title story (one of the non-vampire ones), The Sound of Drums (the other non-vampire one), A Candle in the Sun (the basis of Wilson's This is My Blood novel) and Against His Better Judgment (a sequel to A Candle in the Sun).

Flash Fiction is printed for the first time here and is a humorous take on the vampire legend. The other one worthy of special note is The Death-Sweet Scent of Lilies -- Wilson's take on the Dracula legend. The remaining ones are a mixture of erotic vampire stories and ones shrouded in mystery.

Overall, it's a good collection of vampire and non-vampire stories. ( )
