- East Village Books is central Iowa's newest independently owned bookstore. But it's a lot more than that! In addition to a huge selection of new release and classic books you’ll also find a dedicated children’s department where parents can teach their kids to love books, fun educational or interactive toys like WebKinz and a large music department with thousands of CDs and box sets from a wide variety of artists. And there is an amazing assortment of original artwork in many media from local and regional artists and a large collection of greeting cards and gift items.
EVB is more than just a book, music and art store. It’s a destination. We liken it to a cultural gathering place. Featured on the EVB Spotlight Stage you’ll find an amazing variety of appearances and performances. From authors and artists to musicians and speakers, East Village Books presents a continuous schedule of compelling events. Educational programs, book clubs, author readings, film festivals, political speeches, meet-up groups, yadda yadda yadda. You name it – we’re probably offering it.
